Professional Email Writing Workshop & Geo-Career Talk (June 16th)

The SPE Dhaka University Student Chapter successfully concluded a program on June 16th, equipping students with valuable skills and career guidance.

The event kicked off with a "Professional Email Writing Workshop," led by Umme Fatema, a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Bowling Green State University and former President of the University of Dhaka AAPG Student Chapter, teaching students the art of crafting clear and effective emails, a crucial skill for academic and professional success.

Following the workshop, a "Geo-Career Talk" featured three distinguished alumni of the University of Dhaka's Geology Department: Mahir Tajwar (Auburn University Graduate Teaching Assistant), Asif Ashraf (University of Nebraska-Lincoln Graduate Teaching Assistant), and Umme Fatema Raha who shared their experiences pursuing higher education opportunities abroad. The session offered invaluable insights for students considering international graduate programs in geosciences.

An interactive environment fostered lively discussions as students engaged with the speakers, gaining firsthand knowledge about academic journeys and career paths.

The program concluded with a special guest appearance by Fahim Sajjad, a former president of the SPE Dhaka University Chapter, leaving a lasting impression on the attendees.

This successful event exemplifies the SPE DU Chapter's dedication to empowering students. By equipping them with practical skills and fostering knowledge sharing, the chapter plays a vital role in shaping the future generation of geoscientists in Bangladesh. The chapter extends its gratitude to the speakers and all the participants who actively contributed to the program's success.
